As a Senior Facade system Designer, you will be responsible for developing cutting-edge façade solutions. From design and technical development to stakeholder cooperation and quality assurance, your knowledge will assist make the design concept a reality.
Your future role
- Design Engineering:
To seek and design new, innovative and cost-effective facade technical solutions and products, to meet market, Customer and Company needs. Also design for re-use/modularity solutions.
Analyze the design documentation for new project, assess concept designs and propose optimal implementation strategies for facade systems.
Develop façade system and solutions for a new project, ensuring the provision of accurate technical documents, calculations, and other necessary information.
Gather design information from enterprise databases, technical publications, and applicable standards, ensuring compliance with local regulations in the design process.
Constantly update and enhance the company’s database with technically correct and cost-effective project facade solutions, drawings and other useful technical information. Including the creation and maintaining of system catalogue.
Collaborate with the assigned team to develop workshop manuals and oversee inspections during production and installation. - Task Performing:
Communicate with relevant parties about task progress and time allocation.
Present tasks to line manager as needed and execute them with high quality.
Document issues affecting task timelines and maintain accurate timesheets.
Perform additional tasks assigned by line manager. - Documentation and Quality Assurance:
Prepare technical solutions, materials selection , technical drawings, specifications and technical submissions ensuring their accuracy, clarity, and adherence to project requirements, codes, and standards throughout the project lifecycle. Implement quality assurance measures using checklists and self-check methods. - Process Improvement:
Enhance design processes and tools to promote efficiency and innovation.
Develop technical solutions that align with organizational strategies and value-engineering principles. - Engagement:
Collaborate with architects, consultants, and cross-functional teams to integrate facade systems into projects. - Risk Assessment and Management:
Analyze project specifications to assess risks and identify opportunities for improvement, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
What do we expect from you?
- Educational Background: University education in engineering like civil, mechanical or architecture.
Constantly strives to learn and improve, participates in trainings, seminars, is interested in innovations. Applies acquired knowledge in system development and optimization. - Professional Experience: At least 5 years of work experience with facade systems or in facade engineering.
- Language: English proficiency at the B2 level, including familiarity with technical and professional terminology.
- Internal Procedures: Knowledge and application of company internal procedures. Active participation in the development and updating of design and system development procedures.
Possesses an extensive command of the rules of graphic presentation, preparation of technical drawings, consistently applying these rules to achieve the highest quality standards. - Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of different facade systems and products of several structural types (from different façade system houses and/or internally developed). Can apply his/her knowledge and skills to master a new system.
Able to use specialized supplier programs. Develops solutions for any kind of facade structures without supervision. Provides comments to suppliers on system errors/improvement.
Able to prepare drainage and ventilation strategy for the system;
Able to prepare data for tendering of systemic materials (data to potential extrudors), prepares drawings for new profiles and accessories.
Familiar with in-house production nuances (element facade, stick facade, doors, windows, etc.).
Prepares Workshop manuals as basis to design for manufacturing;
Constantly supplements and updates our system design library with new solutions, die drawings of profiles and accessories;
Knows the nuances of aluminum and gaskets design and extrusion, injection mold processes, knows capabilities of possible extrudors.
Able to perform most of the required static, thermal calculations, acoustic evaluation, except for the most complex ones, understands building physics and can prepare technical documentation, assumptions to get an approval for solution.
Masters the selection of materials and coatings, considering factors such as durability, performance, and sustainability. Possesses an advanced understanding of material compatibility and can expertly assess the suitability of various materials for specific applications.
Demonstrates unparalleled expertise in facade installation understanding and installation drawings. Possesses an in-depth understanding of facade installation nuances, maintaining close communication with Installation and Warranty units to ensure seamless execution.
Excels in preparing architectural drawings that seamlessly translate into precise and detailed installation drawings.
Participates as a technical support in Mock up design and assembly stages;
Participates as a technical support for the assembly of the first units in production also installation of the first units on site (if needed). - Software Proficiency: Great working skills with AutoCAD.
Able to model 3D without supervision (using Solidworks and/or Inventor), uses parametric modelling. Able to model complex project areas, decide on realization thereof.
Knowledge of Robot, Mepla, Flixo, Insul software usage. Ability to learn new software fast if needed.
Good Microsoft office and office 365 skills, ability to enter required data into time management applications, know how to use different communication tools. - Communication Skills: Ability to work in a team. Able to introduce and train new and existing employees to perform daily tasks. Good public speaking skills.
