As a Sustainability Engineer, your responsibilities will include researching, creating, and implementing sustainable solutions for our facade projects. Your skills will assist us in reducing our carbon footprint, conserving resources, and promoting a more sustainable built environment.
Your future role
- Sustainability Development. Encourage the creation and application of Staticus’ sustainability strategy, making sure that it complies with both business objectives and industry norms.
- Monitoring and Optimisation. Monitor relevant sustainability requirements across Europe, constantly developing and optimising internal calculations, processes, and tools to meet these standards.
- Carbon Emissions Management. Oversee corporate carbon emissions activities and coordinate data collection for annual carbon reporting, which includes Scopes 1, 2, and 3.
- Support and Reporting. Assist project teams in meeting sustainability reporting requirements, including carbon calculations, and obtaining sustainability certifications such as LEED, BREEAM, and WELL.
- Knowledge Sharing and Awareness: Facilitate internal knowledge sharing and raise sustainability awareness throughout the organisation, promoting an environmentally responsible culture.
- Contribution to R&D. Conduct sustainability-related research and innovation projects, with a focus on low-carbon façade design, circular construction, and life-cycle management.
What do we expect from you?
- Education. A university degree in façade engineering, sustainability, environmental studies, or construction management is required.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in sustainability within the construction industry is required. Experience in façade engineering and/or material science is a plus.
- Technical Expertise. Knowledge of sustainability and ESG reporting frameworks, carbon assessment and reporting, and sustainability-related codes and legislation are required. Expertise in façade design and unitized curtain wall systems is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, and LCA tools is required.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills. Excellent communication skills in English (at least B2 level), including writing, speaking, and presenting, are essential for this role.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
- Personal Attributes. Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working autonomously. The ability to take initiative and work independently is crucial.
