Canada Water A1 is one of the first buildings in British Land’s Canada Water masterplan in south-east London. It’s a 35-storey mixed-use tower with 186 homes above a workspace and retail podium. In this video, our team installs the unitised curtain wall that wraps the tower, panel by panel.
Our façade scope at Canada Water A1
We designed, manufactured and installed the unitised curtain wall for the A1 tower, covering 14,370 m² of façade. We worked alongside main contractor Wates and architect Allies and Morrison, whose design gives the tower a varied palette of colour and materials. The building is targeting BREEAM Outstanding.
How unitised panels go up on a 35-storey tower
Each unitised panel arrives on site fully assembled and glazed in our factory, ready to lift into place. This shifts most of the work off site and into controlled conditions, which keeps quality consistent and reduces work at height, a key benefit on a tower of this scale. On site, every panel follows the same controlled sequence: survey, bracket adjustment, lifting, fixing and sealing.
