UNN Pasienthotell, Tromso
The use of hybrid frame in the UNN Patient Hotel allowed us to cut embodied carbon content of the façade by more than a half. Average embodied carbon content of hybrid units (wood/Al) is around 115 kgCO2/m2_facade. If standard aluminium frame was used, it would’ve resulted into average embodied carbon content of around 240 kgCO2/m2_facade. This STATICUS calculation relates to the product stage (A1-A3).
UNN Patient Hotel is Tromsø's tallest building with a total floor area of 11,855 square meters. STATICUS was in charge for façade engineering, design, production, logistics, delivery, and installation. Our area of works was 6,500 square meters of prefabricated unitized curtain wall elements from wood combined with aluminium profiles. The hotel was designed within Passive House Standard.
