This project involves the delivery of a complex façade package for the University of Oxford’s largest building to date. The scope includes 2,500 m² of unitised system with GRC panels, 750m² stick façade zones, 1 000 m² windows integrated into precast panels, 2 550 m² cladding, add on systems and various secondary structures.
Each façade type was engineered to meet demanding performance standards, including thermal insulation aligned with Passive House principles and the Oxford University Sustainability Design Guide, airtightness targets consistent with low energy building standards, acoustic insulation suited for research and teaching spaces such as labs and testing rooms, and fire safety requirements in line with UK regulations, particularly in boundary-adjacent zones.
Installation progress was place on a constrained site with ongoing demolition, basement works, and live services. Early coordination with structural and MEP teams ensured clash-free interfaces and efficient on-site sequencing.
