We are currently looking for a Head of Workshop Design Unit, who will be working alongside cross-functional teams on bespoke projects across Europe.

Your future role
- Team Leadership and Management: Oversee workshop design process by leading and managing a growing team of more than 50 highly skilled workshop engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.
- Collaboration and Process Improvement: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Project Managers, Agile team members, and the Production division to ensure seamless integration of design concepts into manufacturing processes, and optimise material sourcing to meet cost targets without compromising quality or performance..
- Quality Control: Establish and implement best practices in quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of design accuracy, structural integrity, and durability.
- Risk Management: Identify potential design risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively, minimising disruptions to project timelines and budgets.
- Industry Awareness and Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements to improve design methodologies and practices continuously.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key liaison between the Design team and external stakeholders, providing technical expertise, resolving design-related issues, and ensuring alignment with client specifications.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present accurate documentation of design specifications, project progress, and performance metrics, and provide regular reports to senior management on design-related activities.
What do we expect from you?
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related field. Master’s degree preferred and additional certifications or training are advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical or building sector production, and design for manufacturing types of companies with custom fast-track projects. The façade/curtain walls sector, with a strong background in design and manufacturing, would be beneficial.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of successfully managing a team of at least 50 engineers, preferably in a manufacturing sector to drive business growth and enhance competitive advantage.
- Process Improvement: Demonstrated experience in process improvement and implementation, with a knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and fabrication techniques relevant to façade production.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools like common data environment, and applications development, with the ability to translate conceptual ideas into detailed, manufacturable designs.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify design challenges, propose innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent English, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders. Lithuanian language is a plus.
- Leadership Qualities: Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate team members, foster a culture of innovation, and drive continuous improvement.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel (3-4 days twice a month) if not based in Vilnius, Lithuania.
