Staticus recognised as the BFFI Innovation & Transformation Award winner 2026

Staticus has been named the winner of the Innovation & Transformation Award at the BFFI Champion Awards 2026 − one of the most rigorous recognition programmes for family businesses across the Baltic states.

The most competitive evaluation in Baltic family business

The BFFI Champion Awards are organised by the Baltic Family Firm Institute to celebrate the resilience and forward-thinking spirit of family enterprises across Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. This year, all companies with €2M+ in 2024 revenues − more than 20,000 businesses − entered an initial screening based on three-year revenue growth and return on assets.

In 2019, Aušra Vankevičiūtė took on the role of Group CEO, stepping into the leadership of the business her father, Vytautas Vankevičius, built. She brought a fresh and ambitious vision: to push Staticus beyond the boundaries of a regional contractor and start competing not on scale alone, but on technical excellence, innovation, and sustainability leadership.

Till now, Staticus remains privately held. Family ownership at Staticus means long-term thinking over short-term gain, accountability that runs deeper than any shareholder mandate, and a culture where people genuinely feel the power and privilege of building something that lasts.

Recognised among Innovation & Transformation frontrunners

From 1,200 longlisted companies, qualitative criteria were applied to select five nominees in each of five categories. One winner is selected per category.

This year, Staticus was shortlisted to the Innovation & Transformation category.

It recognises businesses that have successfully modernised through innovation, digital transformation, new products, improved operations, or major changes to their business model. Companies are evaluated based on clear evidence of meaningful transformation, market impact, and sustained modernisation efforts − rather than size or reputation alone.

For Staticus, this recognition reflects a consistent focus on innovation across the business: from pioneering the Closed Cavity Façade system in Northern Europe, to developing HUF, our timber–aluminium hybrid unitised façade that reduces embodied carbon by up to 70%, and launching Staticus XD, our continuously developed digital façade management platform. These are the key examples of innovation that Staticus actively promotes and continues to build on.

“This award belongs to every person at Staticus who refuses to accept ‘good enough’. I am proud of a team that goes the extra mile, keeps pushing Staticus to the next level, brings brilliant ideas to the table, and helps us stand alongside the biggest players in the industry.” − Aušra Vankevičiūtė, Staticus Group CEO.

Award ceremony in Estonia

The award was presented at the BFFI Annual Conference on 16 June 2026 in Tallinn, Estonia, alongside winners in Brand & Storytelling, Community Impact, Growth Story, and Next Generation Leadership.

Our CEO also took part in a debate moderated by Fabian Bernhard (EDHEC) where they shared opinions about whether working outside the family business should be mandatory before joining it.

Alongside Aušra Vankevičiūtė, the debate brought together Andrius Kurganovas from Biržų Duona, Katriine Mark from Pro Optika3, Dalius Misiūnas from ISM University of Management and Economics, Matīss Peilāns from ZAZA Timber, and Hannela Tamagno from Multilingua.
