Staticus accelerates its US market appearance in 2024

Staticus’s 2024–27 strategy set an ambitious goal: to become a truly global player, entering new markets and building the brand presence to match. The US market is central to that ambition. In 2024 our colleagues led a sustained series of appearances across the country, from San Francisco and Los Angeles to Chicago and Salt Lake City − translating strategic intent into direct industry engagement.

San Francisco, February 2024

In February, Valentino Basile, Sales Manager for the North American market, and Aulikki Sonntag, Chief Business Development Officer, travelled to San Francisco for a targeted company introduction event, presenting Staticus’s façade and glazing capabilities directly to US general contractors, façade consultants, and architects. The audience represented some of the most ambitious construction projects on the West Coast.

The Chicago event was a deliberate intelligence-gathering exercise as much as a networking one. The three thematic sessions, covering Chicago’s evolving urban landscape, high-performance façades, and product and design innovation, gave the Staticus team a ground-level view of where US market expectations were heading and how European performance standards compared.

“San Francisco was our first real opportunity to put Staticus in front of decision-makers who are shaping the next generation of American buildings,”

Valentino adds, “What struck me most was how quickly the conversation moved beyond introductions: people were genuinely curious about European approaches to energy performance and façade specification.”

ZAK World of Façades — Chicago, April 2024

In April, Staticus made its formal North American industry debut at ZAK World of Façades in Chicago. For Basile, the event was an opportunity to experience the US façade market firsthand and begin building relationships with local material suppliers and window manufacturers — the supply chain connections that will be essential as Staticus grows its North American presence.

ZAK World of Façades — Los Angeles, April 2024

A week later, Basile was in Los Angeles for the West Coast edition of ZAK, meeting with façade consultants and industry professionals shaping the region’s growing pipeline of commercial developments. The two ZAK events in quick succession gave Staticus a clearer picture of how the US market varies by region — and where European façade expertise finds the most receptive audiences.

Facade+ Chicago, October 2024

October brought Basile back to Chicago for Facade+ Chicago, where conversations with architects and façade consultants centred on sustainable building envelope solutions and the direction of US performance standards. The timing was instructive: American design professionals are increasingly aware that regulatory requirements are tightening, and they are actively looking for manufacturers who have already navigated those demands at scale.

“In Europe, we have been designing and delivering to stringent energy performance requirements for years. In the US, that conversation is accelerating, and clients appreciate that we’ve already solved problems they are only beginning to encounter.”

Facade Tectonics World Congress — Salt Lake City, October 2024

The year culminated at Facade Tectonics 2024 in Salt Lake City, the US façade industry’s flagship annual event. Over three days of sessions and networking, Basile engaged with façade consultants, architects, and contractors from across the country — reinforcing Staticus’s growing reputation as a European manufacturer with genuine commitment to the North American market.

“Salt Lake City was where we felt the shift. People were recognising the Staticus name. The conversations were deeper, more specific. We were no longer introducing ourselves from scratch, we were building on relationships that had started in Chicago and Los Angeles earlier in the year”

By the close of 2024, Staticus had attended five US industry events across four cities — not as a visitor exploring possibilities, but as a reliable contractor executing a strategy. The Boost Markets initiative in Staticus’s 2024–27 plan is explicit: enter new markets, increase project hit rate, build brand. In the US, all three are now actively in motion.
